One afternoon I found myself hiding behind a table throwing chocolates at my to be wife who had transformed into a Hangry man eater, at this point I decided there needs to be an intervention!

We start in close proximity to where we currently live, Kogarah, in Sydney’s south.

500 Degrees

This humble little restaurant is conveniently located close to Kogarah station. The boutique burger and steak joint offers reasonably priced meals in a nice ambient environment.

As you enter you are greeted by the pleasant sounds of soft playing reggae music. The warm white lighting sets a comforting and gentle tone, perfect for a Sunday evening dinner.

The Menu

The main menu showcased a decent number of options without giving too much to chose from and leaving you in a state of confusion. I guess you can compare the menu to an American steak house with a little Italian flare, i.e. pairing a charcoaled steak with arancini on the side.

Our Meal

We both decided to go with the burgers of-coarse with my Fiance adding her usual addition of an extra serving of cheese sauce on A CHEESE BURGER!

One word to describe the experience is FRESH! A beautifully well done thick beef patty, accompanied by a variety of fresh juicy veggies basted with a secret burger sauce, all snuggled in between two fluffy milk buns.

My girl was thoroughly impressed, that was until.. she discovered the cheese sauce. I guess you can say it missed the mark and let down the burger quite a bit. When i think of cheese sauce I think of smooth creamy cheesey goodness, instead we got a pasty almost crumbly batch of cheese (sauce?) .

Our advice, enjoy the burgers! skip the cheese sauce.
